Can lens treatment cause blindness?

As with laser eye treatments, the risk of blindness from a lens treatment is extremely low. In high-risk clients, the risk is approximately 0.04% –0.2%. The risk is even lower with completely healthy clients with no pre-existing conditions. It is important to emphasise that blindness from the treatment itself can be virtually ruled out. Blindness due to infection or retinal detachment is extremely rare, as highlighted above.
